Liberals Outraged to Learn Animal Rights Org Has Trump Supporter Running Social Media

The goal of the Beagle Freedom Project is to rescue animals from laboratories and find them loving homes after they are no longer being used for research. It is a uniting effort that nearly every American can and should rally around — but not according to some on the left.

Some animal rights activists are now trying to get a member of BFP fired for the unspeakable crime of supporting President Donald Trump.

Ryan Moore, BFP’s Vice President of Social Media and Social Media Fundraising was a life-long Democrat. Since he was hired at the organization in 2013, he has increased their Facebook followers from 65K to 841K, their Twitter followers from 5K to 41K and their Instagram following from 2K to 97K.

Between his work at BFP and the Animal Rescue Corps, Moore has raised over $2 million in social media donations — including a contribution of $500,000 for BFP in a social media voting contest to become a global partner for Microsoft’s Upgrade Your World initiative.

Moore’s remarkable accomplishments and clear passion for animal rights should be commended by those with a desire to protect our furry friends — but over the past few years he gradually found himself moving towards the right.

“I was a lifelong Democrat and I was anti-gun, but my life experiences changed my views on gun rights. Over the last 2-3 years I gradually became a Republican,” Moore told the Gateway Pundit of his shift from left to right. “The Democratic Party alienated me by being extremely anti-gun and wanting to restrict or take away my ability to defend myself. I am proud American and believe in the US Constitution. I have always been a big supporter of buy American/hire American and of course I’m in favor of keeping terrorists out of the United States.”

A National Rifle Association member, Moore sometimes retweets them or other right-wing political content on his personal Twitter account. This lead to a BFP supporter launching a campaign to get him fired — despite all the good he does for the cause.

The organization also has many supporters on the right, including Lara Trump, and are consistently called out if they dare to retweet them. Many have also declared that they are pulling their donations over her support for the cause.

It is unclear why these liberals would want less supporters for a cause they claim to care about.

In 2017, the White Coat Waste Project, an organization that seeks to end wasting tax money on unnecessary painful animal testing, named the top 15 members of Congress that have been the best on the issue — and eleven of them were Republicans.

Additionally, a poll conducted by the same organization found that while the majority of Americans across party lines care about ending painful animal testing — Republicans care 5% more.

BFP works with laboratories to negotiate them into releasing their dogs to their care instead of putting them to death when they are done with them. They also advocate for living cruelty-free and have developed an app, Cruelty-Cutter, that will alert you to which products are tested on animals and which are not.

They are also actively working on legislation that will mandate labs release animals after they are finished testing on them. Many labs have opposed the efforts as they do not want any attention called to their unnecessary cruelty — but BFP has already been successful in several states.

“There are 383 labs in the U.S. that use nearly 70,000 dogs every year (of which 96% are beagles). Because so many labs kill the dogs instead of retiring them, BFP is advancing legislation to mandate their release, which will guarantee their freedom and attract positive press attention to this hidden, problematic reality,” the BFP website states. “BFP made history passing this bill into law in California, Minnesota, Connecticut, Nevada, and New York. It is currently pending in Illinois and Maryland.”

As far as the campaign to get him fired goes, Moore is urging people to look past party politics and work together to save lives.

“Beagle Freedom Project is a nonpartisan organization and embraces both Republican and Democrat support in the fight against animal abuse. Let’s work together and save lives!” Moore told GWP.
