DC Candidate Cheers, Fundraises Off of Beating of Elderly White Woman Who Called Bus Riders ‘N-Word’ After Being Attacked on Bus

An elderly white woman riding the X2 Metrobus in Washington, D.C. last Tuesday was videotaped complaining of being harassed attacked by black passengers while on the bus, calling her harassers the ‘n-word’ as she walked off the bus to get away from them and then shown lying in a bloody heap on the sidewalk after she was beaten when she got off the bus.

The excerpted video shows the woman saying she didn’t want to listen to the music that a rider was playing (against Metro rules, BTW) and saying to someone arguing with her, “you just fucking smacked my head.” A passenger replies, telling her to “shut-up”. The woman gets up and several riders yell at her to get off the bus. It is then the woman responds with the ‘n-word’, saying “…nigger-asses.”

WTTG-TV reported the woman was hospitalized with cuts to her head but was expected to survive.

The Drudge Report linked to a local radio station’s report on the attack.

WPGC-FM reported on the attack, linking to video that was posted to Twitter.

A candidate for public office in Washington, D.C. cheered the attack and is asking for donations in a Twitter thread in which she posted a copy of the video.

The Washington Post reported in June a pregnant woman was attacked and beaten by a passenger on the X2 Metrobus, resulting in a miscarriage.

Passengers with experience on the X2 commenting on the video of the recent beating testified to the danger of riding the X2.

Beale was unapologetic days later about cheering the attack on the elderly white woman, “I received this message (knew this was coming). I do not feel any remorse for that woman and for anyone who uses racial slurs to provoke Black people. While assault wouldn’t have been my reaction, I can’t police how other people respond to such a triggering word. #comeagain

Beale also took a swipe at President Trump when he criticized the D.C. government last week.
