Creepy Porn Lawyer Michael Avenatti is facing serious backlash after saying in an interview that the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party “better be a white male.”
Speaking to Time Magazine for a lengthy profile, Avenatti discussed his presidential ambitions and why he believes the party should nominate a white man.
“The Democrats have not been this powerless since the 1920s, and their members have responded by nominating a historic number of women and people of color for office. But when it comes to the party’s presidential nominee in 2020, Avenatti thinks in different terms. ‘I think it better be a white male,’ he says. He hastens to add that he wishes it weren’t so, but it’s undeniable that people listen to white men more than they do others; it’s why he’s been successful representing Daniels and immigrant mothers, he says. ‘When you have a white male making the arguments, they carry more weight,’ he says. ‘Should they carry more weight? Absolutely not. But do they? Yes,'” Time Magazine reports.
The comments were received as badly as you would expect, from the party that uses “white male” as a slur.
Michael Avenatti said in an interview with Time magazine the Democratic Party's choice to take on Trump in 2020 should be a white man.
"I think it better be a white male" Avenatti
This is not only ignorant, but racist and sexist. Fuck Avenatti living in his white privilege

Michael Avenatti said—out loud to reporters—that the democratic presidential nominee in 2020 “better be a white male” because “when you have a white male make the arguments, they carry more weight.”
Better be a white male, my ass. He better go sit down. https://t.co/XKEAUwGMiI pic.twitter.com/WQi4kFkfqR

Avenatti is literally articulating the problem anyone wanting to lead, who is not a white male faces.
Whether I agree with his conclusions from that or not, he is absolutely correct about white guys being automatically taken more seriously by society and in politics…

Many social media commentators were quick to declare that their previous hero is now a “racist” and “misogynist” over his remarks.
Avenatti will likely have to battle people such as Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris during the primaries if he wants a shot at replacing President Donald Trump in 2020 — and there is zero chance this won’t be used against him.
