One of the frequent refrains of anyone who speaks about the newly late Pres. George H.W. Bush is his excellent sense of humor, which was often self-deprecating.
The man knew how to take a joke and laugh at himself. Nevermore was this trait that we haven’t seen grace the presidency in the past decade more apparent than when “41” called Dana Carvey — who had perfected his impression of Bush on SNL — and invited him to the Christmas celebration at White House following his defeat in 1992.
Carvey is clearly honored and a bit sheepish doing his impression in front of the amused president and his first lady, Barbara.
