On Tuesday, the House Judiciary released transcripts from Comey’s second closed-door testimony on Capitol Hill Monday as part of a joint investigation with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committees into the handling of the Clinton email investigation and his involvement in FISAGate.
Congressman John Ratcliffe (R-TX) was one of the many Republican lawmakers present at the hearing Monday to ask James Comey about the classified memos he gave to his friend Daniel Richman who he authorized to leak to the New York Times with the intention of prompting a special counsel.
James Comey penned seven memos stemming from nine conversations he had with President Trump.
Four out of seven of the memos contained classified information, however; legal experts argue all seven of Comey’s memos were considered classified.
When Congressman Ratcliffe asked James Comey when, and how many of the Trump memos he gave his friend-turned-FBI employee-turned-lawyer Daniel Richman, Comey replied. “Yeah. I’m not going to answer that — I’m not going to answer communications in connection with my interactions with my counsel…I sent Dan Richman images of one memo, the unclassified February 14th memo, for the purpose of his sharing it with a journalist.”

Congressman Ratcliffe then asked Comey if his lawyers had security clearances. Since Comey shared classified memos with his lawyers, it would require them to have security clearances to view the material.
Again, Comey is defiant and says, “I can’t — I’m not going to answer questions about my communications with my lawyers.”
In April, Comey told Fox News’ Bret Baier the names of three people he gave (leaked) the Trump memos to.
“I gave the memos to my legal team after I gave them to Dan Richman after I asked him to get it out to the media–I gave 4 memos to my legal team, which included Patrick Fitzgerald” Comey said.
Comey answered in the affirmative when Bret Baier asked him if Fitzgerald was a part of his legal team at the time he gave him the memos.
The timeline when Comey released his Trump memos to his friend Daniel Richman is important because Comey did not receive written authorization by the FBI to release the memos.
James Comey’s friend Daniel Richman magically morphed into his lawyer the same way Hillary Clinton’s aide Cheryl Mills magically became her lawyer.
Comey will get away with his crimes because the Republicans waited too long to subpoena him; the curtain has closed on the House Republicans. The Democrats take the gavel back on January 3rd.
The Inspector General is investigating Comey’s classified leaks, however, we cannot rely on Horowitz since he does not have the power to impanel a grand jury.
