As part of her sudden policy pivot to border/immigration issues, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) highlighted some photos taken during her visit to Tornillo, TX during the 2018 campaign. In the photos, which photographer Ivan Pierre Aguirre didn’t publish at the time, AOC seems to be unable to control her emotions after witnessing “that the America [she] love[s] was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.”
I’ll never forget this, because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love was becoming a nation that steals refugee children from their parents,& caged them.
More kids died after this. To date, no one has been held accountable.
We need to save these kids. https://t.co/HhdMqc5zML

Having a hunch that perhaps there was something deceptive going on, Tom Elliott, founder of Grabien Media, searched his company’s PhotoBank and found “alternate angle pics” that show what it was that AOC was looking at when she broke down.
Are you ready for this?

Not a child in sight. Not a tent in sight. Not a weeping “parent” in sight.
Here they are, enlarged:

No shame. She knew full well what she was looking at when she retweeted the photographer, but chose to make it into a “Save these children, no one has been accountable” trope.
Disgusting.
